Step 1 of 7   Address

Where is the home?

Your utility decides what rebates exist, and in Los Angeles that changes street by street.

Step 2 of 7   Your home

Tell us about the house.

This is the start of the load calculation. Square footage alone is how the industry guesses; the rest is how you stop guessing.

Step 3 of 7   Current system

What is there now?

The nameplate on the outdoor unit has it. If you are not near the unit, skip it. We read it from your photo later.

Step 4 of 7   Comfort

What is wrong with it today?

Select everything that applies. These are symptoms of specific mechanical problems, and each one points somewhere different.

Step 5 of 7   Mechanical space

Where does the equipment live?

This is the part that makes built to fit real. Everything here is optional, and skipping widens your price range rather than hiding a surprise until install day.

A tape measure and thirty seconds. This is what decides whether the plenum we fabricate actually fits through the opening.

Printed on the main breaker. Panel capacity is the most common reason an electrification quote moves after the fact, so it is worth a look.

Step 6 of 7   Whole home

Anything else you want priced?

Each one is a separate line you can accept or decline. Nothing here is bundled into the system price without you seeing it.

These are answers you saved earlier, not a new estimate.

Your estimate

Here is your number.

Essential is the changeout itself, and it is the $8,000 to $18,000 range quoted everywhere else on this site. Engineered and Complete add scoped work on top of it, priced here so you can see it rather than discover it later.

Yes, that is smaller than what you have.

An oversized system short cycles. It blasts on, satisfies the thermostat in eight minutes, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull humidity out of the air or move it through a filter. Then it does that forty times a day until the compressor gives up.

That is not a downgrade. That is the first time anyone did the math.

Baseline membershipMonitoring, filters, and seasonal service by the crew that built the system. The install is identical either way. from $85/mo
Precision in the shop costs less than improvisation in your hallway. That difference shows up in your price, not our margin.

Your price firms up before install day. If anything on site differs from what we scoped together, that conversation happens before work begins, not on an invoice after.

Estimate only. Not a contract. Nothing due today. California requires a written, signed home improvement contract before work begins. Rebate figures are estimates confirmed at quote time and are paid after installation and inspection, not deducted at purchase. Utility program funding is limited and rebates are not guaranteed. How it works

Measured online. Built to fit. Installed once.

01   QUOTE

Get your price online.

The questions above, plus a few photos if we need them. You see a real range in minutes, and you see it before we ask for your email.

02   ENGINEER

We size it to your actual home.

A load calculation from your home's real numbers, not a rule of thumb. Then the plenum, transitions, and filter rack get fabricated to those dimensions before anyone shows up.

03   INSTALL

Installed in one day.

Because the parts already fit, the crew spends the day installing instead of cutting and bending sheet metal in your hallway. We pull the permit and file the rebate paperwork.

04   MANAGE

Ongoing care, only if you want it.

Add monitoring and service at checkout, or skip it and still have a properly sized, professionally installed system.

Why it is different

Measured twice. Manufactured once.

A return plenum is the piece that connects your air handler to the return duct. On almost every job in Los Angeles it is cut, bent, and taped together on the floor of your hallway by a technician working from a tape measure and memory.

We build it in a shop, to your dimensions, before install day. That is why we ask you to measure the opening.

Manual JLoad calculated from your home's envelope, orientation, and glazing, not its square footage alone.
ΔPStatic pressure measured and documented at commissioning, so the system you paid for is the system you got.
4" MERV 13A filter rack deep enough for real filtration without strangling the airflow.

Built to your dimensions, not to the hallway floor

Rebates, handled

The paperwork is our job.

What you qualify for depends on who bills you for electricity, and in Los Angeles that is not the same answer from one neighborhood to the next. We check yours, file everything, and track it to payment.

Questions

Asked at every kitchen table.

How can you quote without visiting my home?

The questions here, plus a few photos of your equipment and the space around it, give us more usable engineering data than a salesperson's walkthrough. Your price firms up before install day, and if anything on site differs from what we scoped, that conversation happens before work begins, not on an invoice after.

Why is the recommended system smaller than my old one?

Most systems in Los Angeles were never sized, they were guessed, and the guess always rounds up. An oversized system short cycles: it blasts, shuts off, and never runs long enough to dehumidify or filter the air properly, while wearing itself out. We size from a load calculation of your home's actual numbers. That is not a downgrade. That is the first time anyone did the math.

Is the price I see here a contract?

No. It is an estimate. California requires a written, signed home improvement contract before work begins on any job over five hundred dollars, and nothing is due when you see your number here.

What rebate will I actually get?

It depends on who bills you for electricity. LADWP pays $1,000 to $1,250 per ton on a qualifying ducted heat pump, by efficiency tier. Southern California Edison does not run its own heat pump rebate; it funds the statewide TECH Clean California program, and that program's single family incentives went fully reserved for Southern California in January 2026. South Coast AQMD's GO ZERO program is regional rather than utility based, so it reaches homes SCE serves. Every figure gets confirmed before your price firms up.

Do heat pumps actually work in Los Angeles?

Los Angeles is close to the best heat pump climate in the country. Winters rarely drop below forty five degrees, which is where modern heat pumps are most efficient. You get heating and cooling from one system, and you stop burning gas inside the envelope you sleep in.

Am I required to take the membership?

No. It is one optional line, and the install is identical either way. It exists for people who want the system watched, filtered, and tuned continuously by the crew that built it, starting from $85 a month.

What if my ducts are bad?

The questions above ask about it, and the assessment on install day verifies it. Sealing, cleaning, or replacing ductwork is priced as a line item you can accept or decline. If your ducts are the actual problem, a new system alone will not fix it, and we would rather tell you that before you buy one.

Your air, managed.
